Spicing up my Pantry

I woke up to more aches and pains in my left leg. I think it’s getting worse. Fortunately I was at my desk for most of the day.
I did some light stretching immediately when I got home from the office. My benefits kicked back in straight away so I’ll make a physiotherapy or massage appointment this week.
I hate being injured. It just sucks.

Other than the faulty leg issue, I feel pretty awesome. I’ve been doing super good with my diet overhaul. Paula cleaned out her pantry and donated a ton of spices to my pantry. I love free stuff.

Generally I use the same spices over and over in my cooking – cumin, garlic and curry. I love spice and the hotter the better. I’d really like to take a spice course to learn how to use other spices. I’ve taken cooking classes in Thailand and India and I can cook up a mean curry. But it’s try to add some variety to my meals.

Avoiding processed foods and bread hasn’t been too challenging.  I have been sleeping well and I don’t feel as bloated. I may have even lost a few pounds.  (Most likely in part this is because I haven’t been working)

A food processor is the next item on my list for my kitchen. A lot of the recipes I have been researching require a food processor. A blender can only do so much. Right now I am researching the brands and comparing prices. I don’t want to spend a lot of money but I want something quality that will last.

I’ll wait until the new year before I make the big purchase. Until then I will make do with my blender.
